The public can bring a wide variety of household recyclables to the fairgrounds, and local businesses, agencies and nonprofits will collect them.
Among the items that can be dropped off are newspaper, mixed paper, cardboard, aluminum, plastic, metal food cans, scrap metal, glass, compost, hazardous waste, clothing and building materials.
Electronics will be accepted but there is a fee associated with most electronic items because they have to be dismantled.
The Fairbanks Community Food Bank will be accepting food donations, as well.
Last year’s inaugural Recycling Round-Up drew an estimated 400 people and approximately 25 tons of materials were gathered in a single day, said Interior Alaska Green Star executive director Andrea Miller.
