Apparently once you say something.... you don't have the freedom to change your mind or point of view.
If every American were to have voted on / against the war in Iraq / Afghanistan.... we would be standing amungst a whole congregation of hypocrits every where we went! Significantly OVER 50% of Americans were "PRO-REVENGE" when this all began, now significantly LESS THAN 50% of Amricans are in favor of it. That makes you all hypocrits?! By this definition anyways!

There are only a few things that I would like to state regarding this letter to the editor.
"If McCain has the best judgment in the world, why did he vote in favor of the war in Iraq based on assumptions that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction?"
It saddens me when citizens of the United States say things like this. Saddam Hussein may not have had weapons of mass destruction, and he may not have had any intention to use them on American soil, but he was a threat to all. His dictatorship was a prime example of what this world didn't need. He aided and abedded terrorists from Afghanistan throughout the terrorist plots against the USA. The "weapons of mass destruction" defense may have fallen through and the Bush Administration may have been wrong, but he had to do something. He had to protect this country, it's citizens, and it's soil. If that meant invading a country and destroying a dictatorship as horrific as Saddam's.... so be it! Bush may have failed, but he tried.... and I'd rather have a leader who tried and failed, than leader who tucked his tail between his legs and hid (Clinton).
At the time when the invasion of Iraq was voted on, the USA was bruised. We were still mending from the unthinkable events of 9/11. If it had been a public vote.... it still would have passed. WE wanted revenge. The unfortuneate part is we have grown up in an A.D.D. society. Our attention span and commitment to 1 single action is minimal. For GOD sakes, if a movie lasts more than 2 hours, half the theatre is itching to leave.
You are a hypocrite if you are PRO-WORLD PEACE, but ANTI-WAR. (I believe that World Peace is only for the naive). Allowing Saddam Hussein to continue ruling is a prime example of your hypocrisy and believeing his death would have conjured up a "fair" leader is even more absurd.
McCain's honesty in this subject, when the country is clearing loosing support IS, definitely a reflection of his TRUE character as the letter writer suggests, but not of "politician type ways" (as defined by the letter writer). It shows what an honest, genuine, and caring man he is... even if it means discouraging others. He would rather be honest and carry his backbone, than to be questioned about his flip-flopping later. Good for him!

The best thing about being American is that we have the right to make our own opinions and speak freely. No political party, whether it be Republican, Democratic, Liberal, etc, should force you in to saying, or believing in something you don't truely beleive in. Barak Obama may "talk like a Republican" and John McCain amy "act like a Democrat", but that makes them American.
My political views do not have to mirror those of the political party I choose to represent. I have the freedom to vary from the norm. Let them be. A true voter shouldn't pick someone by their political party.... but should choose the person who best fits the office!

I knew the parks Hwy was closed before I got off of work that day. I heard it on the radio. Mind you, I don't get off of work until 6:00p, so she is obviously mistaken about it not hitting public radio until 6:30p.

Again I say, this is a woman's discussion and a woman's matter. Until science allows a man to become the incubator, his opinion and and input should NOT be considered in this matter. Or, until statistics start showing that there are MORE signle fathers than there are single mothers, it is still a woman's right!
Those of you men who say that abortion should be illegal, should start taking some responsibility yourselves. Keep it tucked away! What if we were argueing about a man's right to reproduce? What if there was a law that stated all uncommitted and unwed men are REQUIRED to have a vasectomy, in order to reduce the number of abortions of eliminate them all together? Would you be willing to do that, to make abortion illegal?! PROBABLY NOT!
Regardless of whether abortion is legal or illegal, abortions will be performed. The only difference is, there will be more uninsured woman checking into hospitals to be treated for the gruesome aftermath (mind you, that will be paid for by the tax payers).

TDoval~ Most women, huh? Does that explain why abortion is still legal?! I think that in itself if a contradictory statement.
Here, let me say this.... abortion is a woman's choice. If you ask me, it should only be voted on by woman and should be strictly discussed by woman. If, and only if, science allows the man to become the incubater for a life, should their input or opinion be considered. I am a woman who has neither a child or had an abortion, but it is my choice. There are significantly for single mothers out there than there are single fathers.... and again, until that statistic changes, this is a WOMAN'S RIGHT.
Maybe, if abortion becomes illegal, we should make it law for all uncommited and unwed men to have their tubes tied! That would lower the abortion rate real quick!

Donnomite~ It was his choice to live off base. Had he lived ON base he wouldn't have to even worry about his utility expenses. Who's to blame now?
