Teachers are worth every penny they make. I'd rather go fly another combat tour than teach primary grades. I know, 'cause I go to my grandson's school often and keep involved in his academic life. My hat's off to all teachers. Keep up the good work.

It's against Borough ordinances to post signs on public right of ways. That includes stop signs and street signs. I think it's inconsiderate at best and littering to boot.

Welcome to the third world folks. I'm sure that as soon as I start washing my clothes in the Chena River, some eco-whiners will file suit. Meanwhile...do you think GVEA really gives a rodent's rear if I save electricity? HA, that's how they make their money.

If you catch someone stealing your property, issue some summary punishment yourself. There isn't a jury in town that would convict you.

Fair is fair...if one person gets it, we all should get it. My wife and I both work. OK, we're not below the poverty level, but only because we work hard. We could use some help with our fuel bills too. Just so all you people who benefit from the non-profit agencies in town know...the extra income I used to donate to them has been eaten up with inflation.

I remember when we voted to construct the Carlson Center way back when. We were told it would pay for itself with self generated revenues if only we would pay for construction. Guess what?

Teach your kids to ski and ice skate in the winter, and play football, soccer, or baseball in the summer. Don't forget there's plenty of swimming available, already paid for courtesy of the proptery owners.

Enough talking, let's get started doing something. One; drill ANWR. The development footprint in ANWR is like putting a postage stamp in the parking lots of WalMart, Lowe's, and Home Depot combined. Two; get started building the dam on the Susitna River. Alaska is a huge place...there's room for development with plenty left over for the enviornment.

Good discussion all around, even those who need to vent, but not contribute to the topic. Nobody wants the government to support those who could and should be working, agreed? To those of you who think you need the government's help...take a look around. If there's something you can do to help yourself, try it. If it doesn't work out, try something else. Don't give up. You don't have to go too far to see someone who's way worse off than you.
