jdub: No one said they take guns into Denali, stupid. Maybe you should read people's comments a little more carefully before calling people stupid.
I think they out to charge people for their rescue if they where unprepaired to be doing this in the first place.

So with all of these noise complants maybe it should have been save Galena instead of save Eielson. That way they could move all the Red Flag exercises there and then the community would lose on the hundreds of thousands of dollars the visiting units bring to the local economy when they visit. Then there would be no noise at all from Eielson, no jobs on base, and no money from the airman.

Where were all of these anti-military people in 2005 when the BRAC was going on. I did not here one person at the Carlson Center saying they wanted the military to leave. All you heard around town was save Eielson. Then now 3 years down the road the anti-military start coming out of the woodwork. Maybe you guys feel better saying all this negative stuff on a web forum and dont have the guts to do it in person were someone could see your face.

I did not hear anyone complaining about violance when the BRAC was going on and Eielson was going to close. All I heard was "Save Eielson." Now that the base is safe everyone goes back to bashing the military.

It is one thing if they were attacked by bears or got injured by slipping or something, that they should not be charged for. But if they put themselves in this position by lack of preparation or taking on more than they could handle, they should be charged for the rescue.
