Hmm... wondering why we did not hear about this. Now I know why someone was so quick to say that kids should be "off limits"!

Thanks Lonewolf91, your post was refreshing. I think it is unfortunate too, I just choose to take the stance of what I assume would be of most Moms.... I would be disappoinyed, but no doubt would support my child however I could.

Hi, My name is Shannon M. Lane I happily live in North Pole with the rest of the Christmas Fairies! I have been pixyfae@yahoo.com now since 1997. It stuck because I collect fairies. I don't hide behind anything, I am who I am, Mother of 4. My Son will be 15 in November, my oldest daughter past away in 1997 and my twins will be two the 25th. I am a proud military spouse, but you already knew that. I am a proud republican too!
I have nothing against Obama and have stayed out of the name calling on here completely from day one! I have stated and you have read in the past we plan on retiring here. But, again it is the meanies that make me ponder that decision.
I was born in Iran, raised military mostly in Texas, have seen my shares of ups and downs and find comfort in the Lord. After the loss of my Daughter, yes maybe my views are a bit extreme when it comes to children and the scrutiny there of. I will stand behind mine and I stand behind Sarah Palin, the more thrown at her, the harder she will work! I for one know she can do it, given everything life has thrown at me. I strive everyday to become a better person moment by moment because of it!
If you would like to know anything else feel free to look on my myspace, I am sure you can figure it out... It is the one with the cutesy whimsical name attached to it. Why? because it makes me smile ;)

Wow! I am going to jump right in here. I did not have sex until I was 18 and graduated High School back in the 1990's, even then I was one of a few, as a matter of fact. I knew no other. I was afraid of my Parent's. It was not respect for my parent's that kept me from having sex, it was FEAR! I got pregnant at 19 had my first child at 20, on birth control and I assure you, I was no more ready then I would have been at 17. I have raised my Children however with the upmost morals, respect and values I have. My Son knows what I expect from him. He is one of the few kids at his age that still says Yes Ma'am, No Sir. However I am not niave, and I know that teeneagers have their own minds. I would like to think that he will make all the right choices that I have tried to instill in him day to day. But, if he makes a mistake I will be there as his Mother, as a Christian Woman and do what MOTHER'S do in time of Crisis. We love and protect our Children. I have seen this no different from Governor Palin. Bristol made a choice and set aside the disappointment her Parent's I am sure felt, they stand behind her decision. I have seen morals and virtues brought up in this thread recently. You tell me what Christian morals would not have you support your Child? I commend them in this as I have so many other things! As Dana said, no one is perfect and I for one am glad that they have not tried to portray themselves as such! Welcome to the nuclear family. Times change, we hope better for our kids but understand they are definately not ABOVE it!

Good grief..

To all that are quick to say, well there must have been a discussion about her "options" and then you are quick to bring up they must have discussed abortion. Have you people ever heard of adoption? BIG DUH! As far as her being pregnant, guess what, it is small town America. I am sure there are millions of lucky kids that don't get pregnant or have abortions that Mommy and Daddy never knew about, or yet one that Mommy and Daddy paid for. You know these kids, you just never knew the history! It is a private matter, as should all children of all people in the "lime light". I applaud the Palin's if for nothing else, being "small town America" parent's dealing with some of the same issues that all of us raising teenagers, will deal with today, tomorrow and ten years from now...
