flapalms, The view of the Mount Susitna web cam is normally serene, as is was last May when this elapse time video was made, very little jiggle. It is possible to go weeks or months with out feeling any tremors in Alaska.

A couple of weeks ago I collected a series of photos from the web cam looking at Mount Susitna, apparently area was having a swarm of quakes as the telephoto lens was shaking around more than normal for the view. The result was a jiggly time elapse clip. The building the camera sits on was only shaking slightly but the long lens really magnified the movement.

Bud, The delay is likely there so as to allow the news-miner to censor anyone to might moon the camera or worse.

Hi everyone, a tip on reducing the effects of mosquito bites for those people who react with swelling and discomfort (Generally Europeans). Try a little pssst from WD-40 on the bite, it seems to instantly neutralize the toxins from the bite. This was found to work very well on “Fire Ant” bites. A couple of fire ant bites could cause swelling a require large dose’s of antihistamines for some people. A little WD-40 will cure the problem if applied shortly after the bite. It’s a good idea to rinse off the WD-40 from the bite with water a few minutes later.

Hi Arctic cammers , the shuttle was suppose to pass over southwest Florida this morning at a little after 11 am. I was hoping to catch a glimpse of the shuttle as it passed by but I did not see it, I did have the camera rolling just in case and was able to record the booms.I put it on youtube.

Panoman, your vivid description of what and how sun dogs are would indicate that what I captured from the newsminer arctic in the early morning was indeed a rainbow not a sun dog. Thank you for the clarification.
I have posted a video on youtube that you might find mildly interesting. The phenomena shown in the clip doesn’t really have a name and in fact it probably has never been even noticed before.

Hi TimeshareVon, the picture titled "Iowa Sundog" at www.picturetrail.com is reminiscent of a the short clip I took from the Arctic Cam. At the time I thought it was a sundog, but comments were that it was a rainbow. Now I am back thinking it was a view of a sundog similiar to what you captured.

flapalms, ice worms are not a problem in the summer, however some wells in the country have mastodon hair in the water.
