olypopper, if you'd like to actually address what I wrote instead of just being loud and obnoxious, I'd be more than happy to tell you why you're wrong.

I always thought it was funny that the term conscientious objector implies anyone who doesn't claim it has no conscience. As for those who claim he 'chickened out', exercising his right to freedom of religion from within a system that has the obligation to send you to your death without your even being able to require an explanation is heroic.
The man did finish out his contract. This clause was part of the contract he signed with the government. If more people everyday stood up for what they believe in, we would all be better off. Most don't because it's not an easy thing to do and are lazy. To respond to the "but they don't, so deal with it crowd": THAT is real cowardice.

Regardless of their accuracy, wouldn't higher CO2 levels at points in the past be an even stronger reason no to push it higher with the indisputably massive amount of CO2 being released by humans?

It seems like it must be a pretty fair sentence if about half of the people here think it's too harsh and half think it's not severe enough-

There have been a lot of comments about oil prices coming down this much or not that much if ANWR is opened to drilling. Everyone seems to have an opinion about this qualitative result, but I'm interested in hearing, from these same people, what the actual dollar amount they expect to pay at the pump for gasoline would be with or without having ANWR opened?
For instance, with: $x, without: $y

Good to see Ted's still on top of the internets! Better clear up all the phantom VOIP calls to make sure the tubes don't get clogged.

Reader1, The Nazi eugenics program was modeled after one pioneered in the United States at Cold Spring Harbor.
Saying that "Hitler used science, Darwinism, evolution, to justify the Nazi atrocities. That one group of people was superior to another," is misleading. Science is a systematic method of drawing conclusions from observations - it can't be good or evil, it simply is. If it is not done honestly, the conclusions mean nothing and it's not science.
And to whoever mentioned Answers in Genesis, this applies to their "museum" as well.
