How much did we pay the members of this commission to recommend raises for people who don't need them or want them and don't forget the raises for the legislators who appointed the commission in the first place.
Would they form a commission if they weren't planning to get a raise out of it?
And - Thank you Governor.

My first job at 16 was as a maid at the Polaris Hotel. I was also a dishwasher at the Petroleum Club. I can't even believe that was almost 38 years ago! YIKES!
When the new courthouse was being built, I thought it would be a great idea to make the Polaris an office building. It seemed that it would be an attractive place for attorneys. Perhaps if the owners would have been a little less greedy - say $4 million rather than 9, perhaps something like this could have been accomplished before all of the pidgeon and mold damage. And $4 million would be much better than the $800,000. they're looking for now.
I remember the flood, the broken pipes made a mess of the entire area for a day or two.

Look at it this way....That's two cold months behind us and in less than three weeks, we'll begin gaining daylight

I've always believed that climbers on Mt. McKinley, hikers in the wilderness and others daring nature shoud have to make a huge deposit before venturing out - perhaps $100,000.00 for the right to climb McKinley. Then, even if they kill themselves, it will cover part of the S&R expenses. If they make it through on their own, most of their deposit could be returned.

Truth in news, I don't know why but everytime I see or hear a statement beginning with "Hello," I know it's not going to be something that I agree with. We will lose a lot for many years and it's just crass to say that Ted is going to die. I believe we will all die but that's not justification to brush us off. Yes, the natives have been here for sometime, but their lifestyles were much different. I don't think we want to go back to surviving in skin boats with harpoons.

Good job Ted.
It's too bad the newsminer had to mention your age. They must believe that we aren't capable of doing anything right when we're old.
I was expecting to read that you pulled over a 20 year old thief and wrestled him to the ground. Then, your age may have been noteworthy.

Bozoboy,
It's interesting that you believe this is a switch in values for the interior constituency. I'm just fed up with Kelly's incredible ego and even though I'm very conservative, Karl Kassel didn't look so bad. Either way, I hope Kelly gets the message. Karl also seems like a genuinely nice guy.
On Kelly still has 1-vote lead after all ballots counted in Interior Alaska House race

Let's just give the settlement back to the tobacco companies. Anyone that whines that they didn't know smoking could be dangerous is either stupid or a liar. We need to take responsibility for our own actions and quit being allowed to sue everyone for our own bad choices. By the way, McDonald's coffee is hot.

So, half of the voters are tired of Kelly. Let's give Kassel a try.

Well, if the Riverfront Theater isn't paying property taxes, why should anyone else?
I'm not representing a business but I certainly am "non-profit" as are many other hard working individuals that I know.
