Regarding auto rentals. A consideration must be given to the fact that many more road miles in Alaska are unpaved. That being said, most rental agencies have restrictions regarding use of their vehicles on unpaved roads. Driving on unpaved roads dramatically increases the likelihood of damage (including tires) from stones & the like.

Regarding Murphy Dome....I was stationed there 1963-64 maintaining radar systems (774th AC&W Squadron USAF). Great views. I understand that the FAA has plans to install a webcam there for aviation purposes, but not for another year or two. HankB

Iceworms....I have seen a few in New York along the Ten Mile River, just before it empties into the Delaware River. Even a bit smaller than what PanoMan described. This was in February of last year.

Moma_Sibe.....If you click on tntmedic (in blue alongside any if his posts), the News-Miner will open a window for you to communicate with him (outside this forum). Your message is delivered, blind (your e-mail address is not revealed). But, you can put whatever you wish in that message (that message will not be published here). He can reply to you, via the News-Miner. After that, you two have the opportunity to communicate directly.

Do I spy something going on by the Big I? Is there an event going on this weekend? So that's why the N-M has spruced-up its' facade.
