"Doesn't the base/post also recycle?"
If you mean the truck that picks up regular trash and then picks up the dumpster right next to it marked "Recycle", then yes, but in the SAME TRUCK?

...."and I understand that several of the folks on the Borough Assembly were seen with their hands in their own pockets."
Now THAT's funny I don't care who you are.

They also need in newer vehicles, a device to disable your cell phone if your vehicle is in drive. If you're in park, or have been involved in an accident like if your airbags deployed, then the device would (reable?) your phone allowing you to use it. I am so tired of the women (mostly, sorry ladies) who won't turn and look because the cell phone is in the way. BTW you know who you are, because you almost bought me a new bumper the other day. Not to mention I would have center-punched your driver's door.

I agree. Spill a little oil or antifreeze on the ground and the feds knock your door down. Chunk some plastic in a landfill and it's no problem. Alaska? No recycling? You gotta be kidding me.....

Got out a couple fishing reels and the tackle box, cleaned and oiled them all. Paid some needed attention to the armory, went through the photos of some fishing trips and moose hunts. Makes the day fly by.

There's nothing like peeling a dead, frozen ex-drunk from the alley behind your place of business to make you wonder "how come he/she had nowhere to go and get warm?" I swear, they may be drunk and deserve a lockup. but telling them the alternative is 30 to 40 below and dying has a calming effect on those folks. Old army cots and perhaps some warm food. We have enough abandoned buildings that could be converted for this don't we?

And that is the biggest gripe I've heard, alaskaway. I have not taken the audit, but to hear from some of my friends that it is a big chunk of money, yes, but that it takes so long to get done. Y'know in the slack time between getting the audit and getting the work done, there is a time period to start on what you can. Who doesn't know someone who for a case of beer will help to insulate a space. Sweat equity. It means working for what you need. Even holding a flashlight if you can't lift ot tote. Handouts are worthless, handups are worth gold. Just my nickel.

That photo would have caught my eye more had it been "staged" to depict an equal mix of races. What did stand out in my mind was the size of that facility. I've never seen the actual building, but it looks bigger and better shape than some schools have. Let me guess, prisoners have free internet and cable as well?

You might want to keep that comment to ourselves. Folks might get the idea it's kinda nice to live here.
