Extremely dissappointing...we have such a diverse need in this state that needs addressing and we're still unable to makes steps to help those students and teachers that want to succeed but don't have the capebility due to the harsh constraints placed on them by No Chile Left Behind. I think the program has done more harm than good in this state.
On Alaska left out of program to tailor No Child Left Behind act

No one should be excused from committing any sort of crime. But as a sister of a deployed soldier and the daughter of a retired Special Forces soldier, please remember that a few bad apples don't ruin the entire orchard. I understand that there's members of the armed forces that do not live up to the ideals of the military but should we really generalize for an entire group? Just please keep that in mind when writing about the military as a whole.

Chris, those "drunken scandanavians" as you call them who "can't hack it in their own country" are some of the nicest people I have ever met. You take the time to sit with one of them and you'd see they have no time to do anything but study and practice. Also, as an example, Vahur Teppen, a UAF skier is also on his national team for Estonia and one of the best collegiate skiers in this nation. He and Marius Korthauer landed on one of the All Academic teams. I'm not sure "drunken scandanavians" is quite the right word to use when describing these athletes that work their butts off year round.
