Story is strange. Was the senior citizen living there as the deterioration took place? Story sez the vermin were the only occupants, but then it says that vagrants occupied the house.

How could this have gone on so long? Surely there were arrests on the property. Doesn't Fairbanks have a three strikes law that condemns (might not be the right word) after three arrests or brushes with the law?

I read a lot of Web sites linked to newspapers worldwide, and this is the most civil. May the summer solstice sun warm your backs.

I really wish I were the right age for 4-H, again. I got into the best kid organization in the world because I wanted a rabbit. It has served me well. This program sounds incredible. It also sounds like it is well thought out. Good Luck

You can see sundogs anywhere, even in NYC in August, if the haze and humidity don't obscure them.

Got my official welcome to Fairbanks certificate. Went to the UAF to start some research and parked in what seemed to be a visitors lot. Got a ticket. There goes the alumni donation. Where are the visitors' lot?

Tomatoman, I have a card from the command at Fort Wainwright verifying that I lived through minus 89. I think that the thermometer the military used was at the airfield. Near the river where we lived, we recorded minus 92. The cold broke on New Year's Day. It went to minus 20. My brother was running around outside in a sweatshirt. My mom hollered at him, "It's not that warm." But it sure felt like it. Once you go through something like that, it takes a lot to feel cold. Think that was December of 1964. Now I have to find that card.
