Lori,
Did you pick up the trash just to complain? Is this the first time you have done this? If Fairbanks is like any other U.S.A. town it won't take long to have more trash on the road side.
You can elimate the scaratches on your childs legs and arms if you have the "little" girl wear long sleeves, and long pants for such tasks, oh, and don't forget the sunblock. Making children miserable isn't fun now is it? Hope you didn't call people who litter MORON'S in front of you "little girl"......we want to set a good example with our verbal actions in front of our children. (they are smart enough to pick up on what is happening) You have yourself a great day while mending from the scratches!

Sounds like you don't get out much.
Common courtesy has left way too many,
this is a different generation.
Toughen up and take it in stride or it will drag you down,
YOU don't have to be like that.
What I miss is a "thank you" now and then.
"Please" has gone somewheres?

The state of Wisconsin is really the place to go and drink and drive.
A man not yet 40 years old was stopped for the 17th time for DUI.
Yes people it is true.
In Wisconsin minors can drink beer if there parents buy it for them and give it to them. Check it out. I've seen my 10 year old neighbor boy at the County Fair drinking beer, from the looks of his face and his walking it wasn't his first that night. Many of the children get a head start on drinking from an early age.
The state where I come from it is called " contributing to the delinquency of a minor"! So maybe Alaska's DUI's arent so bad !

Instead of putting the garlic toast under the broiler, why not put your garlic/butter on the bread and put it in a fry pan? It will brown and you can do the same on the other side. Just a couple of minutes will heat and brown your bread (toasted). Is cheaper than using your oven if the garlic bread is all your going to use it for

Let me add that your cost to re-cycle elctronic's is MUCH cheaper than the lower 48. Cost me $35.00 to take my microwave oven (that cost me $50.00 seven years ago) to the re-cycle center. Sears would of charged me $40.00 to take the non working one to the center themselves. Thats just for a microwave, a small one.
It is expensive yes, so consider yourselves lucky to have the prices that you do in Fairbanks for the service.
Just where else you gonna go with them...DUMP THEM ALONG THE ROADSIDE?

Is Jakimo updated on it's shots?
Try to have a good day.

"Special Needs" animals at the shelter could very well have communicable diseases (some air-born) which could be spread
to other animals. Pets roam freely with some owners.
I am for shelters, but people be careful with you decisions to let
ill dogs go up for adoption. I don't know about Alaska, but I bet there Vet. bills are the same as the lower 48 or more.
Good luck,

On Ill, young pets could get chance at adoption

Calvin Moses - Racism Lives On.....how true that is. It has, and always will live sad to say.

It comes from the parents, the realitives of the parents, it never dies it is passed along from generation to generation.

If you were around durning the Racial Riots of the 60's? The quips you see about them are TRUE, the police beat the "heck" out of em and anyone who got in there way. (must not of been TOO many lawyers then) peoples were hung, dragged behind vehicles, dissapered, ect. Very sad !
And right up there with the hate, was the hate against the American Indian (First Native People as there called now). And in the early 90's when my child was graduating high school - the "Hatred" was still on, and still is. It will never end.
Good luck to all of you. " If one could walk a mile in my shoes" - how does that go...............

The Grandchildren Pat Fink is talking about, sounds like they are in High School ? The Day of Silence should of been in the Handbook passed to students on the first day of school.
Well, Grandma being of high school age you should give the children a chance to experience this "Day of Silence". They are getting older and hopefully you start letting them (if you are the one in charge) make some decisions on there own if they want to take part in this event or not. Study the handbook - or call the school for a monthly schedule so that you can hash out if you want the children to be there on certain days instead of maybe having fun poked at them with an angry letter to the Newspaper?
