I appreciate coach Fourcade and the players who represent Fairbanks in this league. My wife and I have attended every home game and are proud of the class and dignity represented by the Grizzlies. I have defended coach Fourcade in these pages against long-time residents and community leaders from the beginning, and stand by my claim he and the team members are a credit to our Golden Heart City.

In the face of much unsportsman-like conduct and multiple ejections of opposing players, our team has presented itself with dignity, discipline and restraint, which reflects a well-coached group of atheletes. I am proud of our team and its leaders, and look forward to next season with optimism.

I extend a heart-felt "Thank you" to those responsible for bringing coach Fourcade and his troops to our fair city.

Thanks Raider. I was wondering myself how Bonehead got a beer into the "dry" side of the arena. Of course, the only report of beer being thrown in this article came from a C.C. player.

Also, it looked to me like the refree did motion twice, indicating two players had been ejected. He did not have his microphone on, and I was not (and am not) sure who from which team might have been tossed.

Anyway, there was plenty of ugliness to go around. But as Raider wrote yesterday, there was not much discipline on display from the Texas team. It makes me proud to have Coach Fourcade in town and in control of our team. Here is hoping he can help get us a win against the Wild, and make our season complete!

All of King's horses and all of King's men couldn't hold off Mitch Seavey again.(Iditarod, 2004) How sweet it is to see the "face" of Alaska dog drivers fail to hold a lead down the stretch one more time.

Congratulations Mitch on a fabulous race, and a well-deserved place in Alaska's dog racing lore.

I cannot fathom how this trail marker thief has come to represent all that's good and honorable about the state sport of our great land.

Congratulations to Mitch and his team on a fabulous race, and a well-deserved place in Alaskan dog racing lore.

Could there be one other possibility guys? Might the coach's tongue have been in his cheek? I was impressed by the Grizzlies play last week, which was not only within the rules but within the spirit of them.

While the Katy, Texas team took liberal advantage of the "2 or 3 step rule," which apparently allows the officials to wink at a reciever being across the line of scrimage when the ball is snapped, the Grizzlies were extremely disciplined. It was the visitors, not our home team which had two different players ejected from the contest.

The Grizzlies played hard and were disciplined - both honorable characteristics of a well coached team.

It seems a little presumptuous and a lot unfair to judge and condemm a man on the strength of a single quote found in a newspaper.

How exciting! The team did us proud, and I trust they felt supported. I do not think we should be content to "wait till next year." Coach Fourcade knows what's shaking, and the players displayed a high level of "gameness" over and over - the last touchdown run was a wonderful example. I too can't wait to get that Anchorage team again, in our house.

Any word on the injuries?
