I owned a business and I accepted checks, including from out-of-state tourists and newly planted military families. I never had a bad check. I still write checks to pay bills. Of course I use a card too. My mother writes checks because she cant grasp the concept of using a card. Its too bad businesses are forced into not accepting them. You would think in this day and age that it would be fool-proof, kind of like inspecting possible couterfeit dollar bills (with that special pen or light they use).

I drove a dump truck one summer hauling gravel from the river, and driving back there on those trail-roads was awesome. It is so pretty back there. Lots of birds and trees, I loved being there. Yes, there were a lot of abandoned cars too.

I ignore liberal discussions. I do not like liberals. This is not a discussion forum, it is a comment section and I was commenting to the original letter to the editor. If you would like a discussion with me, you can email me.

the cartoons on PBS are great for my baby. She watches Clifford and sometimes Sesame Street while Im making her breakfast. What I dont like are the 800 numbers that pop up and down blocking half the screen. Do they have to do that during a cartoon for babies? The 800 number also blocks Antique Road Shows $ amount that is displayed, when the appraiser tells the person its value.

in the Air Force, at Survival School, we learned about the Geneva Convention. I thought that covered things like torture, and treatment of POW's. I think maybe we should torture MORE, and show em who is boss.

sorry for your dog. I live on a street in North Pole, and in front of my house there is a sign that says Children at Play 20MPH. Most people that drive by are ok, but once or twice a day I see a speed demon zooming by. The sign that says Children at Play is there because there are LOTS OF CHILDREN in this neighborhood, not to mention famly dogs and cats, leash or no leash is not the issue. Slow down people!!! With the price of gas, there is no reason to be in a rush!
