Typical weather person. Uses all this technology to predict the weather when all it takes is to step outside and look. Makes you wonder how the Farmer's Almanac was able to function before the scientists.

Instead of using the Polaris. Why can't we salvage some of the old mobile home frames, tear the structure off and build them to with stand Alaskan weather. This would be much cheaper and still give much needed affordable housing to those in need.
The time for $300,000 homes is over let's get back to basics.

Gee. You guys should of lived in Missouri or Nevada like I did. We had snakes and scorpions. Nothing like walking through your garden and have something stick it's tongue out at you. There everyone would panic if you ran over a skunk. Nothing works better at clearing the drive thru at McDonalds than having skunk juice on your bumper.

Fairbanks is already the better place. The way to keep it that way is to support locally owned businesses and to develop our own manufacturing and agriculure.
My uncle always said the grass always looks greener on the otherside, then you get there and find out it's only crabgrass.

Another point not brought up. Is the larger stations such as Fred Meyers, etc are given discount prices from suppliers where stores like Curry's isn't. This is also why stores such as them have to charge slightly higher costs.
Until we all have an equal playing field you will continue to see this happen. What happened alot was by the time they were able to sell the gas in the tanks, the prices went way up over what they made. This happened at 10 Mile Mercantile also. Now there is only one fuel station out on Chena Hot Springs and it's at 24 mile.
Like I've said before progress went out the door when we started getting real lemon in our dish soap and imitation in our lemon ade.

I'm starting to wonder how many of the bloggers on here are paid. I once posted my resume on the writer's guild site and got proposals to write blogs such as some of these and get paid for it. It didn't matter if it was my opinion or not. Depending on who paid was the way the blog went. Just curious.

They always like to land on my boobs when I'm hanging out my laundry. Never fails. Hubby calls them little perverts. I've never been bitten by them. They kind of remind me of something out of Men In Black.

My answer to a better life is:
Work as if you don't need the money. Love as if you never been hurt. And dance as if nobody is looking.

Only way I would get on a bike now is if it had training wheels, my helmet would have a flashing light on top (like ones on slow moving vehicle) and you would have to clear the road between Two Rivers and Fairbanks because it would be hard telling what I'd hit. I would also wear a football uniform with all the padding.

We all need help from time-to-time and shouldn't grudge those that need a helping hand.
