Lucy, what public office do you hold then? and I did not direct that comment about being law enforcement towards you, and if you are invloved then why do you need to defend yourself ? Those comments are directed at everyone else who compalins but does nothing. However this is off topic apologies.

Sgt_Goden -
1) What would be your opinon on someone who has paid there debt to socitey (fines and all) and still cannot get a condiontal drivers licenese with an Interlock device?

2) How would you feel as a law enforcement officer about past DUI offenders being required to have a special Licenese plate for say 5 years after there conviction? Would you be more biased towards those drivers? (I am an advocate for the special plate)

I agree tell you what your first DUI offense is your last lets just use the firing squad, when we catch a thief we should cut off there right hand, and anyone that speed even 5 miles over the limit should loose there license for life. Becuase everyone here is perfect.

thewayiseeit - I am guessing your a Law Enforcement Officer of some agencey, I am sure you never speed when not running code, and yourself a flawless driver who has never broke a traffic law on or off duty, please all I ask is that remember the law applies to those we trust to enforce it.

If none of you like the way the system is GET INVOLVED I am sick and tired of hearing people complain about how things are but then do nothing. I belive the greatest thing you can do is go to city council meetings, attend the Borough Assembley meetings, it is a sad day when the greatest turnout we have ever had at an assembley meeting was in regards to recovering things from dumpsters. If your unhappy with State laws write your representative, call your senator. Even better run for office yourself. I fyou do not like the DUI laws get involved I have wrote my representative, I have spoke with my state senators, about these things.

Look, I realize that 3 DUI's is pretty crappy of him. I am not sympathetic to Drunk Drivers or Criminals. However we do have a justice system that says when you commite a crime ANY CRIME you have to pay your dues to the community whatever that may be.

He did this, MANY DONT, one of the few that has learned, however after he as paid his dues done his time he is STILL being punished for what he has done even though he has served his time paid his fines to the community. Jeeze thats fair. We dont even punish some people who commit murder as bad.

As well anyone on this board that says THEY HAVE NEVER DRANK AND DRIVE IS A LIAR for sure did you realize you can get a DUI even if you are under .08 if the officer belives in anyway that you are impared just to let you know, this is everyone judging not knowing the facts once again.

I have seen many DUI's where people were below .08 but still very impared, and I am sure there are many of you that dont understand that the rate of consumption, absorbtion and elmination of Alcohol in and out of your system. This is very technical and not worht my time to explain to anyone on this board however the basic point is, I am sure everyone on this board who has ever consumed alcohol has drove when they were impared.

Belive it or not our system works for those who want to change and realize that they have made bad decisions.

Let him with out sin throw the first stone

You know thats funny I have a buddy who got 3rd DUI paid his fines for all of them, did everything that is required. He has a job is succesful has completed all the requirments of the court and I belive learned his lessons, however he is still being punished, so tell me where we dont hold there feet to the fire. Thats BS you guys really need to get some facts.

I do belive though that people convited of DUI's Should have to have a special Licnese plate for say 5 years after there latest conviction say a nice bright Orange so you know that, this indvidual has a histroy of driving intoxicated and to be EXTRA CAREFUL. Even my buddy included.

So BillyG, James, and Sumoi I think you guys should start your own busniess running an EMS service jeeze these guys just must be tards its just basic book smarts you guys must be experts. Then you could regulate weather your shift supervisor and incident commander can use his Vehicle to drop his kid off at school and hit on corinne, if she was popular with the fire fighters, I hear theres money to be made.
By the way I no longer reside in Fairbanks however I would like to thank you guys (FFD) for doing a great job and all the Volunteers to you guys really make it happen for your service areas.

Lets see Firefighting, Cop Work, medics are 3 out of the 4 that are the most unapperciated jobs in Fairbanks (aside from your garbage men).

James and Suomi - If you dont like it start up your own EMS service contract with the city and go from there (if you can afford the Ambulancees, Fuel, insurance, and staffing) I mean jeeze Im sure 1300 a call would cover your expenses and make you a nice hansome profit. AFTER you fight with insurance companies, pick up a few homeless people you might even be able to bill medicad. Hey maybe you guys could be busniess partners.

Bugger - I sure hope they are taking there whole crew and there turck to go to the grocrey store to get something to cook, dude becuase if my ouse cathes fire I dont want them to have to drive back to there station to get there freaking truck I want them to be johnnie on the spot.

Now lets get real Alaska, every other fire department (besides the Airport Police and Fire in Anchorage and Fairbanks) works 24 on 48 off thats just the way it is and thats the way its always going to be and I am fine with that becuase when it comes time for them to go on a call there the ones running into burning buildings not me to get some ones dog or cat out, ahh there the ones that are going to cut me out of a car when some drunk hits me, hell there the ones that hopefully are going to be able to resucitate you when you have a heart attack so how about we give our EMS a big hand when it comes to a dirty job dealing with all the exposure to Hep C, TB, and the whole host of other things
