There should be no consideration OTHER THAN TC. They are the only company that met the AGIA requirements. Period.

We should only give consideration to TC. That is what we said during the AGIA process and to now go and give consideration to ANY OTHER proposal would be in bad faith!!

Corinne,
Great point!! This is NOT A HAND OUT!! It is PROFIT SHARING, and as you point out, just a pittance!! People should understand this and quit making it sound like welfare!

Unfortunately, I see the end of Div. I basketball tourneys in Alaska. I LOVE college basketball, but for all the reasons stated, it is going away I bet.

I wasnt in the room when he said that, but I remember it well!! I also spent 10 seasons in Fort Yukon and went to get some help from Don in a federal pay matter that 5 of us had issues with. We wrote him 5 letters and mailed each from the post office in Fort Yukon. We got ZERO (0) response from Don. (The poor, lowly school teacher from Fort Yukon) We should have paid the money to have the letters sent from Houston, TX., maybe then we could have gotten a response!! Don needs to have his rear end ousted!!! Go home to your mansion in Alexandria, Don.

The special session should last one day!! If it does not, we should let it be known that we will be replacing our delegation. (I will be voting them out anyway) We must let our legislators know that if they are the hang-up in this process, we will oust them at the first opportunity. Jay Ramros should be blue-ticketed out of Fairbanks. I have always respected him for what he has done since those meager days at Jaybird's over on Old Steese, but I have lost ALL respect for him since he has gone to Juneau!!

These men saved this young woman's life for sure! Now, the race committee needs to look at their procedures and trails for cycling. The city of Anchorage needs to ensure that their parks are safe for humans. If this means taking some bears out, moose out, or any other hazards out, it needs to be done. Hope this young lady recovers quickly and completely.

I agree!! Thanks Gov Palin, and yes, it might be more realistic to double the 1200 dollar figure. That will get most through the winter, and will once again give us that feeling of ownership of our resources as spelled out in the Constitution....something the last administration was going to make sure we NEVER HAD again!!

They should hunt down this bear and kill it. It will attack again and maybe the outcome next time will be different. This young woman was extremely lucky to be alive, and I hope someone can kill this bear before it does kill.

I spent 1/2 of my year for ten years in a village along the upper Yukon River. I will not name it, but many will recognize it. If a dog was loose, the police shot and killed it. Loose dogs are dangerous, especially if they "pack up". They can be as dangerous as a pack of wild animals. The dump in the village used to be littered with dog carcasses. Not the prettiest sight in the world, but an effective mechanism for keeping loose, possibly wild dogs from attacking a child. In regards to these particular dogs in Fairbanks, someone should just go take care of it, as suggested earlier. Just make sure they end up in the dumpster.
