Mr Mowry This is about the first column you have ever written that I can relate to. I hate to tell you the amount of trash I have hauled back from lakes in the Brooks Range. Every lake seems to have a pile left by hunters, guides, fishman and other aspiring outdoor types. If you take it in also take it out.

It seems to me that predator control is never necessary except for the two legged types and there motorized vehicles. Attempting to
control the up and downs of animal cycles is never completed without error. A natural ecosystem is and always has been the best system.
The animal world will live in a proper balance without any interference from man. People seem to think that animals are here
for the use of man which to my notion is wrong. This idea stems from the fact that in former days killing animals for food was necessary for survival. In some cultures this may still be necessary but for most of us these days are now gone. We call it sport hunting now but not much of the animal killing today is sporting.

Those of you that think the Dept.of F&G knows what it is doing must be dreaming.

We don't need another pipeline, the traffic is bad enough now. Why make it worse? On top of that every loser in the lower forty eight will be headed this way bring nothing but trouble.

I don't understand why everything says drill ANWR. We don't know
if there is any oil there. No seismic work has ever been done which
means that every estimate is nothing but a guess.

I can't understand why we would want to destroy a river just to
get a bit of power. The day of the big corporations dispensing
electricty is about over. No more wires all over the place and
no more poles. Every home will be equiped with its own fuel cell
with the fuel supply coming from water. Oh happy day.

Remember when the politicians were trying to get all the land in
the area to be used to build the pipeline. They promised us cheap
fuel and heating oil would be the result. I am still waiting.

Years ago there were no taxes on borough property. Then some venturing citizens decided there was a fortune to be made in the potential tax base. They built a large office structure and filled
it with people that don't seem to do much that results in anything.
The fire protection I suppose is valubable especially if one has a fire. The garbage stations prevent the big rush on the dump. But
beyond that I need help.

In Alaska it seems the answer to everything is "kill it". The Park
Service seens to do a lot of things wrong but this deed was one that
was commendable. The reputation of Alaska as "killing country" might
have gained a bit of reprieve.
