Agreed,

Absolutely pathetic!

I wonder how "hard" it will be to find the perp in a village of 300. Good luck to the VPO and the AST.

Maybe you can use your notes from the Point Hope caribou debacle.

When I left OKC last week gas was just starting to dip under 2 dollars a gallon. Now I see it is at 1.77.

Susie77...No we do not have high taxes, as a matter of fact the state tax was suspended back in August. It is pure unadulterated greed on behalf of the oil companies.

The villages are bearing the brunt of the pain. While we here in the populous areas see fluctuations in the price, their fuel was delivered this summer when prices were at their peak unfortunately. A 5 gallon can of gas runs 50 dollars in Arctic Village, if you can find it. Not to mention the 1 dollar per KWH for electricity, when the generators are running.

I am currently in OKC and upon arrival drove down Meridian Avenue. Lowest price I saw was 2.43 at a Seven-Eleven.

Hopefully when I return at the end of the month it will be 3.43 in Fairbanks.

Far cry from the Fairbanks I grew up in. I do agree with the icespider, "cut the head off this snake", now.

As far as weeding each other out, they are just poor shots...

Great job Whalers!

I work in Barrow and will be able to attend the game on the 4th. Great job and so good to hear about the positive results of this program!

Next weekend go to Sam's or the Walmart. I will bet the computers, flat screen TV's and Ipods will be in short supply.

A cold winter awaits!

I remember when that building first was built.

Some sort of Mom and Pop eatery with really excellent Mexican food. The burritos were wrapped in tin foil and very good.

Anyone recall the name?

Imusuallyright,

Got me that one, I did not know! Maybe the staff could have informed me, probably too much trouble. Still 50 minutes is a long time to wait and as far as coddling, I and my money will stay home next time.

A picnic along the Chena River, especially on a beautiful day like today, would be preferable.

Wow...I must say this is the greatest thread ever! Customer service in this town has always, with few exceptions, been poor. I assume it comes from the "I am the only game in Town" days of the 60's and 70's.

Went to Lavelle's Bistro for lunch today with 4 friends and despite many positive reviews, I for one will never go back. The wait staff never took our order after bringing us our water, had to go in and place it with the staff.

50 bloody minutes later our order arrives and it is short one order. The waiter claims he will check into it but never returns. Had to go back inside and re-order the meal. 15 minutes later it arrives. If this is what constitutes "great" service count me out. I guess this is why they make you pay before you get your meal and tack on a 15% gratuity. Otherwise they would have got jack from me for their abysmal service. The food was not so great either.

On the plus side....Wendys in NP is fast and courteous (Avoid the McD's in NP), Azteca and Taco King are fast and the portions large.

Do not eat out often as I am much happier throwing another Copper River Red on the BBQ.
