The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner wants to encourage free exchange of information and ideas. However, we reserve the right (but assume no obligation) to remove comments and/or ban from this free public service those who become a nuisance.
Nuisance comments (even when typographically obfuscated), include, but are not limited to those that are:
* potentially libelous (slanderous)
* potentially tortious in any way
* defamatory or abusive
* obscene, excessively foul and/or vulgar
* ethnically objectionable, racist, or otherwise hateful
* inappropriately sexual
* baseless personal attacks on any other user, public officials or employees of the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, or otherwise threatening, or baiting someone into such comments
* illegal material or material that infringes on the rights of others
* commercial postings attempting to sell a product/item
* completely off-topic material
* repeated (or incredibly similar) posts on the same story, place, event, etc.
* personal or business URLs that could be viewed as an attempt to solicit business
* or any other material that infringes on the ability of others to enjoy our forums.

Since we can see by Harriet's post to Avid-Guy that she can see well enough to send him that message in lower case...why doesn't she just post like the rest of us and stop all this nonsense.

Ok, Elizabeth, I too agree with you. Time to get back to this board as it always was...an Alaskan forum for stories, etc. about this great state and to answer questions from those traveling to AK. Rose

Akkuma, I think you have a valid point, but don't waste your time..this is a public site that used to have good info on it, but some ppl have turned it into there own personal 'good morning I'm awake' site...something they could do with their friends and email. And others of similar minds defend them. But to each his own...live and let live.

Thanks, jbtremer, bless you. I am glad, too that I live in a country where we can all express our opinion. And tomorrow will be mailing a package of cookies and stuff to a young man in Iraq. I care about my country and all of you and those who serve while we talk.

This is written in a friendly tone of voice. I came to this site even before there was a blog....just a cam. For some reason it was calming and appealing to me. Then came the blog with it's wonderful Alaskan people posting their stories and thoughts. How terrific!
Now it has become a battleground with a couple of ppl trying to dominate others ...and succeeding. It is very sad to see this happen. I will spend my net time in a better place where there is a good exchange of ideas and friendliness and some maturity. I predict that at some point the paper will have to shut this blog down. But I am moving on and only wish those of you here who have good intentions much good luck. Peace and goodbye.
