Where are your children buddy? Ever needed to run in Fred's for tampons & milk or should I say beer in your case? Got kids running and screaming and tired and....heh! it'll only take a minute to run in get what i need pay and get out...take the kids 30 min's, likely to forget what i came for...I know you think you're helping but what you're doing is you are butting in where it doesn't belong. It's a struggle being a mother...now try being a single mother...I'd be the first to call the cops if I thought a child was in danger, but what you are doing is hurting famailies who are trying to stay afloat. You want to help..then babysit your neighbors kids so she can go get groceries in peace without dragging the family circus to Freddies. Or are you on the Sex offender registry? It's so hard to tell these days whose the good guy and whose the bad guy?

I once worked at a social service agency here in town; every morning it was a staff members job to go through the blotter and see if any of the names mentioned were in our data base. If they were, we'd scan it in to file. We never knew convictions or appeals or details, just what they were accused of committing. Most of these clients were inactive; when a client came to the agency to receive additional help the caseworker in charge would have a file on the client and these charges would be one of the first things read. We wouldn't mention this information to the client unless they brought up the issue; but don't you know it clouded our judgement.

Amen! Why keep hurting the little guy, when it's corporate companies raping our waters!

Wow! I love the ice art. I go with my kids several times a year....no pass. It is expensive already and I hope with this "$4 million, three-story structure at Tanana Lakes" that the prices won't increase. What got my goat this morning was "Mayor Jim Whitaker said he has offered the nonprofit a 30-year lease in the park for a nominal fee of $1 a year, a move that will require approval from the Borough Assembly. " Wow! There are some amazingly wonderful NON-Profits in Fairbanks that are closing doors, cutting services, and dropping clients, b/c of financial hardships. I don't see any offers like this being made to LOVE INC or any of the Play N Learns in town that serve a more vital function than ice art! Is it because it's Brickley's baby?

Is there a petition started? I went to endalaskadaylightsaving.com and it's useful information, but I am not one to "write" a snail-mail, nor am I the one to "phone" my legislature. You stated "We simply didn’t have the funds to be gather signatures statewide in the time allowed." I have been involved with several online petitions, an it is simple and it's easy and it's FAR REACHING. Check out this cool tool: http://www.gopetition.com/howtostartapet.... Please come back here to post info re: a petition if you start one re: DST; I'd be interested in helping!

In defense of some...the Disabled placards are suppose to be displayed when the car is parked and taken down when driving begins. We'll never know who is truly disabled by judging from the outside. For the past year I have had a placard for my infant son who had a stroke...it sure was nice to park close to Walmart and Freddies, but to be honest I never felt comfortable doing so. Was I NOT entitled b/c my son was an infant and couldn't walk to start with? The state of Alaska deemed my child disabled...but to look at us you'd think I'd stolen my Grandmothers placard. We definetly need MORE places for the disabled to park and then we need concerned citizens to stop bitching and do something....call the police the next time, follow that person into the store and verbally inform them and anyone else in earshot that what these folks have done is an offense to everyone! Maybe you'll stop me and I'll give you an earful about judging others on their appearance only...have a fabulous day all!
