I voted in this district; whoever wins or loses, I hold no regrets. I hope those who comment in this at least voted in their respective district. Please whoever wins (presuming Kelly), remember your constituents ('cause I'm one of them)!

The Alaska Perm Fund Corp is doing a decent job, the small decrease in the fund will not impact the PFD that much due to the 5 year sliding adv.

And Yes, Vangaurd seems to do well, I wish my 401 offered some of their funds.

How can this be called "hacking" when no other methods were used then the ol' "Guess and check?" I wouldn't trust an unencrypted email with anything valuable, let alone state information. She's lucky the guy only released some phone numbers and photos.

If anything, the "hacker" (aka: really bored guy on the internet who uses wikipedia and guessing) should be rewarded for exposing her errors, so IF she ever becomes VP, hopefully she'll use a little more common sense.

I believe we should all be jumping on one leg and reciting the abc's backwards while listening to the national anthem. I am disappointed that obama doesn't do what I like.

For all the people just flaming Whitaker online in pretty much every letter to the editor, you act as if you could do a better job; can you?

Please run for office and lay out what economic and social strategies you have.

Also BigMike, if you read the Wall street Journal or any publication with economic insights, you'd see Obama and McCain have both laid out most of their strategies. Cliff note version: Trickle down tax breaks and cooperate credits (McCain) vs pre-bush taxation of the "rich" (no trickle down) and a stronger middle class (Obama)

So some students did a courageous thing by reporting this and the administration gives a zero tolerance policy credit at all?
That policy will only effect how much of this kid's life will be wasted, and to what level of society he will ever get to. Not to say that kid is a victim at all, he's pretty dumb and made a bad decision.

"Think about it, it would have been easier to vote for the $1,200 energy payout in an election year than to stand up and say it is not a long-term fix"
We have enough finances to do both.

I agree with Scott (at least my reading of his article) that the $1200 was both unwise to pass for the long run, and if it was (did) pass then we should take into account the SUBSIDIES for anchorage energy costs ALREADY in place and give Fairbanks some extra loving. I do not agree with subsidies, but the fact is they're already in place for the other side of the fence and I'm happy to have our home guy at least trying to get us something.

Idealogical votes (no "welfare checks") that hurt your constituents, is that worse or better then voting yes like Scott did? My opinion is the he did the right thing for his constituents given the circumstances.
