Thanks, alaska_joe! I appreciate you putting forth a fair and balanced opinion on this topic. I do not wish to see marijuana or any other illegal drug legalized either.
Runnynoze, your scripture reference does not concern smoking weed. It had to do with food...and that before the Fall.
Here's another verse for you:
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (New International Version)

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
That's why you should not put harmful substances into your body.

Each life is precious and has value, that is another reason why this Bill is so important. Pregnant minors do not need to be getting abortions without parental consent. This is a serious medical procedure with severe emotional ramifications, and a parent needs to be involved in that decision. Abortion is the taking of a life and that affects more than just the pregnant mother. As a parent I am expected (and wish) to care for my minor children. Privacy issues are at a ridiculous level. I can't obtain information academically about my 17 year old who is taking classes at UAF, never mind finding out whether or not they had an abortion. I am the parent. Let me do my "job" and be involved in the life of my child. Parental notification is very necessary and definitely needed. Thank you, Rep. Coghill for bringing this before the House. I for one, hope this passes.

This is a terrible heartache to bear. My thoughts and prayers go out to all his family and friends. May God draw you closer to Him during this time of sorrow.
Parents, hug your child today, and often, and let them know how much you care.

You can register as a Republican at the site before you vote. Don't let this opportunity to exercise your right as a citizen float away! There's still time!!!

This university has been our calling, but now we feel some competition.”
Good for you, Mr.Jones. That you wish to invest your time and resources in your family is admirable. We are sorry to see you go, but glad to know that you are a man who has his priorities in life in the right order. We wish you and your wife all the best.
