Sarah Palin should appoint Democrat Nick Begich to Senator Ted Steven's Senate Seat ONCE HE LOSES HIS APPEAL, Which he WILL!!
BTW, have the "BUSH VOTES" come in yet??
On Palin loses vice presidential bid; Stevens maintains slim lead in Senate race

Sarah Palin's "so-called" Popularity doesn't Give Sen. Stevens any "coattails", that's For Certain!!Right, Sarah??

Good Luck to the Men and Women on the Trail tonight........May their Matches always find fire, may they never camp out under spruce boughs loaded with snow....and may they keep their Huskies Mushing under the Northern Lights......
Wish I was there........I'll Never forget the Yukon Quest of 1991....talking to Charlie Boulding, John Schandelmeier and Sonny Lindner at the Circle City checkpoint that year....I had driven the "family van" over Eagle Summit earlier that day and got "stuck" on the Yukon River side of the Summit.....because the Snowplows shut down about 2pm that day.....My Wife was "angry" at me for INTENTIONALLY getting stuck......my defense was that it was a perfectly "sunny day" for a trip to Central.....but I knew I was in trouble when I met the Snowplow at the top of Eagle Summit........and he had come to a Stop!!
Called my Wife from Central and gave her the "bad news" while enjoying a visit with Jim Crabb and visiting with the Trail pack of mushers........then I made an "executive decision" to travel on to Circle City....another 30 highway miles up the Road.....and What a long and winding road....got into Circle City at about Dusk...and purchased a Valentine heart key chain for my wife from the Yukon Trading Post...then went back to the Circle City Community Hall to await the arrival of the mushers....
I kept warm in the Circle City schoolhouse, went out frequently to start the van to warm up the dogs on a -30 degree night on the Yukon,....finally drove back towards Fairbanks 10 miles, paid $20 to bunk overnight in an upstairs loft bed, and caught a few zzzzzzzz's at Arctic Circle Hot Springs Resort...after visiting most of the night at the Circle City checkpoint munching on Volunteer Pot Latch food......the mushers were all friendly!!
Before leaving Circle City, I let the dogs out to run on the Yukon Quest Trail heading south on the Yukon that had only been traveled by snowmachine....as no mushers had left Circle City yet!!
I'll never forget that Unforgettable night under the Northern Lights!!

Thank God for Police Detective Meredith for giving Tricia Warren's family some "closure".......
SAD STORY......HOW MANY KIDS ARE ORPHANS AND NEVER HAVE JUSTICE SERVED ON THE PEOPLE WHO SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE??

Wow.........There are some Very Cold-Hearted Thoughts for the Man who has been Convicted of Killing Tricia Warren....
I too, worked at the 7-11 Convenience Store, on Cowles at 23rd, two summers after Tricia Warren was gunned down in Cold Blood........at the Tesoro 7-11 at the Corner of Peger Road and South Cushman.....
This Man, who's obviously Guilty, was apparently "high as a kite" when he gunned her down and has found a way to "forget" about what he did.......
Working as an Evening Clerk at 23rd and Cushman......not a Day went by when myself and other Clerks felt "vulnerable" Because Tricia Warren was Gunned Down....without the Benefit of a Security Camera on the REGISTER at that Location.......
Now Maybe the Security Camera might NOT have Prevented this Crime.......but Why Was a YOUNG MOTHER left ALONE to work a GRAVEYARD SHIFT at about 5 in the Morning back in 1995......That Fact has Always Haunted Me!!
TESORO 7-11 Bears FULL RESPONSIBILITY for putting Tricia Warren "at Risk"....I don't even recall them Offering a Reward for the Capture and Conviction of the Person RESPONSIBLE for this......
I WORKED for the TESORO 7-11 from July thru September of 1997...with my assistant manager telling me that "they'll never catch the guy who shot her"...saying only THAT....NO ONE came Forward.......there were no Eyewitnesses!!
CREDIT Fairbanks police detective Peyton Meredith for Having the Decency to Find the Man and Gather Evidence against him!!

I'm ready to hop on a plane and fly to Fairbanks after reading about the 25th running of the Quest!! Unfortunately, don't have the money to fly up there...but I wish I could!!
It would sure be good to see Roger Williams and his wife Jocelynn again...I remember when she was still running the store back in the late '80's in Fairbanks....I ski-jored with my dog Rudy back in January of 1989 all the way to the store on 2nd and Cushman....and it was about -40 degrees!
Anyway...I'll look forward to following the race in the News-Miner...which is what I've done for the last 11 years!!
Good Luck to all the Mushers, Race Organizers, and most importantly to the Volunteers and Veterinarians....without whom this event couldn't Continue!!

As a former Alaskan living in Two Rivers, Fairbanks, Goldstream Valley, and North Pole....I would like to see Senator Stevens Resign his Seat....
Or at least see the 60,000 or so ballots yet to be counted REVERSE the Current Trend which shows Stevens leading Anchorage Mayor Begich by about 3,300 votes!!
On Alaska Sen. Stevens holds razor-thin lead over Begich
