You sure seem to think you know a lot, I'm still gonna have to say you either are unaware of a lot...or choose to forget a great deal. It is pretty funny what people say when their face isn't behind it, you're in that group too. Anyone with some knowledge of UAF women's basketball history knows who I am...I see you didn't choose to use your name.

YeahYeah10 I think that you don't have the slightest idea what the situation at UAF has been. Maybe you should take a step back and realize you shouldn't pass judgment on something that you have no understanding of. Don't try to tell people what they should be grateful for-especially when you obviously don't know what you are talking about.

UA_student, the only reason you even notice hockey players out at the bar is because they are student athletes. I would venture a guess that there were numerous young men and women out at that very same bar. Many of them drinking. Many of them yelling, screaming, dancing, fighting, making out, and a whole passel of other things. You notice hockey players because they are well known at the school. I doubt you would have a problem if the reporters of the Sun Star were out at the bar.

As for those that knock the UAF athletic department, you have not the slightest idea what goes on there. Placing judgment on a situation that you have no knowledge about is ridiculous. AD Karr was handed a mess when Cory Schwartz left the University, he has done incredibly well, surrounding himself with some very intelligent people--Pamm Hubbard for instance. In just a few short years she has helped that department develop in leaps and bounds. Don't bad-mouth a situation you know nothing about.

oooo noroad is getting feisty. Too bad you're information is inaccurate and you're contradicting yourself. Wow that really hurt, you called me weak. I'm pretty torn up about it...since I realllyyyy care about what you think.
I think you are totally missing the point here though, you are spending an awful lot of time and energy cutting me down and placing blame on the girls from "big Alaskan schools" when the issue here is that Lynne Andrew is a terrible coach. She did nothing good for the program. She had AMPLE opportunity to develop the team, more than enough time to recruit players...yet she continued to have losing seasons. THATS A BAD COACH. Furthermore, I know for a fact that all of the girls on the team currently and a vast majority of former players are psyched to have big Lynne and her psychotic outbreaks gone. Hopefully she never has an opportunity to run a program into the ground ever again. Nobody deserves that woman as a coach.

OOOO SNAP gooood one noroad...what a burn! hmm I wonder who you're talking about....
Good lord, from those ignorant comments I can only assume that you are either big Lynne herself or one of her 3 supporters. Thanks for that comment though, I haven't laughed that hard since....gosh I can't even remember....oh wait, I can: when I first heard about Andrews "resigning".
Yes, these darned Alaskan players always expecting stuff, like to get fed after a basketball game! Or to have a coach that has knowledge of basketball. Seriously. Selfish I tell you!
Yes, all of the negativity is from players that didn't play as much as they thought they should have...that's why EVERY SINGLE PLAYER was happy to have her go...That's why several former players got joyous calls immediately after the team found out about her resignation.
But hey, that's okay, you can still use Marsha as a scapegoat...pretty much Lynne's whole horrible career at UAF was her fault, shoot even when she wasn't on the team anymore she was getting blamed for things...Apparently that girl has some serious power.

IT'S ABOUT TIME! I commend the UAF athletic department for finally getting rid of a coach that has done nothing but drag the program down.

I know first hand what a terrible coach Lynne Andrew was. While I was recruited by Coach Benson, I ended up playing for Lynne. I can assure all of you that nobody outside of that team can even comprehend what she put her team through. She is a ridiculous woman and a terrible coach. The season where UAF was most successful under her coaching was when the main players were all recruited by Coach Benson. That's because in addition to being a moron when it comes to basketball knowledge, she also has no recruiting skills. Her psychotic outbreaks during practices, team meetings, and games mixed with a complete lack of coaching knowledge that created a recipe for failure. With the talent that the 2004-05 UAF team had they should have been near the top of the conference, it was by sheer determination among the players that we did as well as we did that year.

As to anyone that defends that woman: I can only assume that you are ignorant to what when on in that program. Dedicated coach????? That couldn't be further from the truth. She was a detriment to the program, running it directly into the ground. The only thing she was dedicated to was making her players miserable. From taking their personal cell phones and hotel room phones on away trips to refusing to feed them after games she was simply a terrible person and an even worse coach. In addition to her ridiculous rules and obsession with having complete control over every move her players made, she also lacked the ability to coach people effectively. It was blatantly obvious that she lacked basketball knowledge, repeatedly getting out coached by other GNAC coaches. I can only hope that no other basketball program will hire her, I wouldn't wish that woman on anybody.
