Are you suggesting that property taxes are not regressive? Perhaps the argument should be as to which tax is more regressive. To some degree an individual can manage the payment of sales tax, nothing can be done to manage property taxes, short of letting ones property deteriorate. The mayor's sales tax, particularly with all of the items not subject to it, is a concept which should be given consideration and should not simply be dismissed as regressive.

One would think they could at least wait until the appeal process is finished. He's on inactive status, let it be. Vultures.

A sad day indeed, I'm sorry that Ted had to suffer through this at the end of his career. My thanks to him for all he has done for Alaska.

As long as we're having fun looking back, anyone else remember Jessen's Weekly and Maury Smith? (sp?) I sold Jessens on the street for a couple of years, we'd get the papers and then run to be the first into the bars on Second Ave., that was allowed at the time. Our hope was that someone would give us a silver dollar for the 5 cent paper. That did happen quite often, particularly around the holidays.

No, Klinckerdaggers close quite a while ago, they couldn't make it after the pipeline days... my favorite was the chocolate mousse.
