Well, they are out of sight now...Headed now to North Pole then to the Salmon bake for dinner. If you are in the area, look for an RV with Texas plates and say hello to my family!!! Happy 4th!!!
Hello to all.... before you now is a group of travelers from Texas....my brother Bill, his wife Kathy, my dad Dub and mom Freddie Sue!!! they left Texas Friday 6/27....looks and sounds like they are having a blast.
Well into the 80's today. Ester just had their 4th of July parade. village size. Silly and fun. Now it has entered the wonderful picnic/pot luck phase with hundreds of happy folks sitting in any shade they can find, lots of squealing and happy kids. A real small town get together. Hardly anything better than that. A soft breeze today to make the 80's not feel so bad. Not a cloud in the sky, only our endless sunshine. There is no better place for summers than Alaska, and I think the summers here in the interior have to be the best on the planet. It is worth waiting the winter for, every year!
First Friday tonight as well, with the art galleries having their open houses. Lots going on at Alaskaland(Pioneer Park), with music and all. No fireworks though, we save that for New Years Eve. Plenty of darkness then, but if can be oh so cold! But we do it anyway. We know how to be happy. That is why we live here.
Happy 4th to all, and especially to those that wish they were here with us.
I don't know about earth . . . and maybe not even the entire USA . . . but I must admit, Alaska is right up there on the list of the greatest places on our planet.
Well.......................you all can have your opinions that's what American is all about. But after everything is said and done..........THERE'S NO PLACE ON EARTH BETTER THAN ALASKA

Just what time does Fairbanks have a fireworks display since there is so much daylight there right now?
