Hats off

To the editor:
Without giving any indication as to my personal political party affiliation, I must say “Hats off to Jim Whitaker!” His endorsement of Barack Obama is a breath of fresh air in the smoke-filled political arena.
We, the public, are looking for open, honest leaders who make decisions using information from all sides. Whitaker’s endorsement of a candidate outside his political party, despite criticism from those whose loyalty to party is more important than open-mindedness, is right in line with a government that works.

Yep. Once we sack the old system of wigs and tories, or r's and d's, then perhaps we'll be just one step closer to actually viewing concerns for what they are, rather than seeing them as strategic opportunities for political parties to grasp at more and more control, playing into the mob rule phenomenon that has become our political system.
Send the lock-step partisans home for good this election. Government requires independent THINKING persons, not automatons.
And this morning McCain will be announcing Sarah Palin as Vice President-R candidate!!!
Sarah Palin, the only person I can think of that has less experience than Barack Obama. Oh, what the hell, I'll still vote for her cause she's hot!!!
To be recognised as an asset to one's adversary is not an admirable thing.
disgusting
Why do people think democrats and republicans are mortal enemies? I seem to remember a presidential campaign 8 years back that talked about unity, working together and compassionate conservatism.
Just because the last 8 years have seen politics polarize like never before doesn't mean we have to go on hating one another. We are all americans, we're on the same team guys...
that thar John Mccain likes the good looking younger women don't he?
