Serial flop

To the editor:

John McCain says that Barack Obama is not qualified to be president because he is a flip-flopper. If this is a criteria for not voting for a candidate, then the Arizona senator is one of the least qualified people in the country to be president.

I can write 20 pages of McCain’s flip-flops, find just a few below:

• McCain supported the drilling moratorium; now he’s against it.

• McCain now strongly opposes a windfall tax on oil company profits. Three weeks ago, he was perfectly comfortable with the idea.

• McCain thought Bush’s warrantless-wiretap program circumvented the law; now he believes the opposite.

• McCain defended “privatizing” Social Security. Now he says he’s against privatization (but I wonder if that’s really true.)

• McCain wanted to change the Republican Party platform to protect abortion rights in cases of rape and incest. Now he doesn’t.

• McCain thought the estate tax was perfectly fair. Now he believes the opposite.

• He opposed indefinite detention of terrorist suspects. When the Supreme Court reached the same conclusion, he called it “one of the worst decisions in the history of this country.”

John McCain is man with no principled beliefs. His opinions are constantly evolving on nearly everything. If there ever was a serial flip-flopper, it is John McCain.

There is interesting posts on Arizona's papers on John McCain and Illinois' papers on Barack Obama. The views & opinions posted really vary from the large to the small size newspapers. Voters who has had first hand experiences living in Arizona and Illinois. I do this to get the local's opinions, I'm a firm believer the locals should be at least listened to. Not all posters/bloggers actually get out and vote but will write letters or post/blog on the newspapers. Never lived in Arizona or Illinois so it's a lil informative. Just remember all fish flip flop different when they are out of their water source and on the ground.

Does anyone know how many times Obama changed his vote on legislation because he "pressed the wrong button"? (His words not mine) I'm not sure I'd want a president who makes mistakes "pressing the button".

every generation has to have their stupid vote. a time where they elect someone so unfit that people will scratch their heads over it for the rest of their lives. we had our carter, this next generation has to have their obama. hopefully we'll survive until 2012. and just maybe after it is done there will be another reagan to follow.

Republicans WANT to give this election to the libs...give them the rope and let them hang themselves...

    LOL, That must be it!!!

Personally, I will be writing in Ron Paul, but the libs are going to walk away with this election cycle, as they rightfully should. Republicans have been foolish and supported Geo Bush for so long, and thus, they get what is coming for that support, defeat in the next election.

Polarmark, you are correct. It is sort of a Darwinian electoral college...:-) Unfortunately, sometimes the generations get two for one as far as the unfit presidents go. Can't forget out current leader, both he and Carter were in my generation...

if people do not like the way our officials conduct their jobs vote everyone out and new people in. All politicians have one thing in common what do i need to keep myself in office. Not what is good for the country. I also look at it this way if you do not vote then you have no room to make comments on anything!

Apparently once you say something.... you don't have the freedom to change your mind or point of view.

If every American were to have voted on / against the war in Iraq / Afghanistan.... we would be standing amungst a whole congregation of hypocrits every where we went! Significantly OVER 50% of Americans were "PRO-REVENGE" when this all began, now significantly LESS THAN 50% of Amricans are in favor of it. That makes you all hypocrits?! By this definition anyways!

To clarify my comment a lil.

"Just remember all fish flip flop different when they are out of their water source and on the ground."

    means...

Just remember all of us have the freedom to change our mind or vote or point of view as we grow, learn, experience at any time in our lives.

Not defending anyone just saying we all have the freedom to change our mind or vote or point of view.

Read old and new newspaper articles in Arizona's papers on John McCain and Illinois' papers on Barack Obama and compare the old and new newspaper articles. Local's opinions count to me, I'm a firm believer the locals should be at least heard & listened to. I would be a hypocrit to think any thing different. We have our own local stories on politicians old and new NM articles among other Alaskan newspapers. Look at us here. I personally look at newspaper articles for the support backer of bigger government, government spending and the support backer of condensed government, government spending. A most be is a strong support of education. We can't win against crime, or the ecomony without education. A dream of mine is stop feeding the courts, the jails. The jails and youth detentions only allows them to be together far more then they would be before getting punished thru our courts. Force feed education down the throats of offenders, only educational TV with targets of reading, writting, math, homework to fill free time, life realities & a trade or profession if one doesn't have one or a low paying one. No activity that isn't eduactional including music. If they don't conform willingly, no outside contacts or rewards. Family & friends of those inside would encourage family offenders to get in classes and do the class work. Mine is the cost of crime and how it's handled. We all have pet peeves look up the history of All politicians for your pet peeve(s).

And remember your vote counts as ... you trust in someone you do not "know" personally, having complete control of your family for 4 years.... Most marriages or personal relationships don't last that long now.

One's history counts on the scales of life as well as the present and the future.

    correction:
A must, is a strong support of education.
not: A most be is a strong support of education.

Nothing like a condensed government and expanded education.
