FBI issues

To the editor:

I am one of the last people that condones sins of the flesh. However, are there other people who think that there are more pressing issues for the FBI than busting a ma and pa prostitution enterprise? Unless they were importing Taliban prostitutes, bribing oil company executives to get a better deal on heating oil or paying off communication companies to run an illegal Web site, don’t you there are better priorities for FBI investigations and use of federal tax dollars?

I’d rather see them seeking out and catching terrorists, investigating persons and corporation officials bribing and corrupting public officials and monitoring communication companies that are spying on private citizens. Let local and state police handle sins of the flesh.

FBI agents are regional. The (last time I heard, three) special agents that are assigned to Alaska cannot simply fly over to Iraq and start searching for Osama.

The ATF and FBI have decided that it is easier to go after white collar criminals. It is harder to catch real criminals and sometimes they shoot back.

I know someone who was pulled over a few years ago for running a red light. And maybe being a little drunk. When the cop walked up to his car, he yelled, "Why the f--- did you pull me over when there's murders and robberies unsolved, terrorists at large and a war going on?" The cop responded, "Because I saw you. Now get out of the car."

The point is that an investigation into one situation does not necessarily mean that others are being left alone.

Hate to brake the news to you but if you are drunk and are involved in a accident that results in a fatality you can be charge with at least involuntary manslaughter. So yes the cop is stopping a killer when he pulls you over for DUI.
My niece was killed by a drunk driver so more power to our police.

Wasn't the topic here whether or not the FBI should be involved in busting a prostitution ring, not drunk driving??

FBI can also be involved in the prostitution ring because since prostitution is illegal tax evasion is then involved. That makes it a federal offense. Plus 9 times out of 10 it involves transporting narcotics.

Make it legal, and tax the crap out of it.

Should be able to pay off that pesky national debt in a few short years, eh?
