Multiple gun incidents mar weekend in Fairbanks

Stumble It!A 54-year-old man was shot in the leg following a confrontation at Club Alaskan early Saturday morning.
Fairbanks police responded to the scene about 2:30 a.m. after a report of a fight between at least three individuals, Sgt. Scott Adams said.
One man, Johnathan B. Whan, 22, allegedly went back to his car to retrieve a gun and shoot the man. Whan has been charged with first-degree assault.
The victim was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital for treatment of the non-life threatening injury. Whan may face other charges, Adams said.
Police were called to the scene of another gun incident earlier in the evening.
About 11 p.m., a man allegedly fired several rounds from a vehicle after leaving a party in the 900 block of Woodlawn Road.
Steven D. James, 21, has been charged with first-degree weapons misconduct in connection with the incident.
About 20 people were at the party, and there was some kind of altercation beforehand, but it was unclear why he allegedly fired the gun, Adams said.

Hello Fairbankscans.
You need more shooting ranges, and more open hunts on different animals, This may deter all this gun pulling. Man has been bred to kill since begining of time.
Serious note, That is too bad people have to bring guns out, and use them. What happen to the old fist fight behind the barn to settle things? Glad no one was killed.
My hubby called me and told me about the first guy....a friend. I heard more of the story than what was printed in the paper. Why not give more details? Only first-degree assault??? How come not attempted murder???
I used to frequent bars alot in the older days. I also used to fist fight quite a bit. What ever happened to just having a good old fist fight and it being over?? That was fun in my younger days, but as the years wore on, it hurt more...even when you won!! I hope this guy gets better from his gunshot, but I do long for the days gone by.
Unfortuantly, men (and women) can not just duke it out anymore either. That will land you with an assault charge. Not saying that pulling a gun is better and it will land you with a far more serious charge. I have even seen in the trooper beat where school age boys have been charged with assault because of a playground scuffle. Please! We are living in a police state anymore and everybody's a cop.
Yeah.
The problem is, those that deserve to get their butt whipped then get to play the victim, and the one who gave it to them go to jail.
I long for those days too...

2:30 a.m. is kind of late.......what time did they start drinking?
