Fairbanks woman competing in Miss USA Pageant

Published Wednesday, April 9, 2008

Fairbanksan Courtney Carroll will represent Alaska in the Miss USA Pageant this weekend, but before the competition airs, she's hoping to win the online competition, "Miss Photogenic."

The contest is hosted by the Miss USA Pageant Web site, and votes can be cast at www.missusa.com or http://www.nbc.com/Miss_USA_2008/. Voting ends at midnight Thursday.

Carroll, an Alaska Native from Fairbanks, was crowned Miss Fairbanks Native Association in 2001 and Miss World Eskimo-Indian Olympics later that year. She graduated from Lathrop High School in 2000.

The Miss USA Pageant, hosted by Donny and Marie Osmond, airs Friday on NBC.
