Hi-larious! Not for the folks involved, of course, but it's still really freaking funny.

Since this section is obviously being monitored, will someone from the FDNM please tell us why the comment section from the "dragging death" article has been removed?

This is the 3rd time I've noticed articles having the comment section removed mysteriously with no explanation... I suppose the newsminer staff are deciding which articles we can or can not comment on. Either that, or it could be some sort of glitch in the system....

If you were reading the comments in that drag death story, they were getting pretty ugly ... I wonder if there's a limit on the number of comments that are removed before they close the comments altogether. It'd kinda make sense that way.

I am an early riser. Seems like there might have been two that I read. Can't remember the gist of them. Didn't seem like they were nasty. But I can see the potential...

If so, I wish the FDNM would just remove the comments as they usually do.

If after only one week of cohabitation, you find your significant other hitting you, and following you down the street trying to repeat the assault, while cursing at you, frothing at the mouth, and screaming, even AFTER the cops arrive, it's usually a pretty good indicator that maybe the 'moving in together' part was a tad premature, if not inappropriate altogether.

I'm thinking that the next otherwise-logical move of a proposal concerning matrimony and children just became a really -bad- idea..... in a fairly clear sorta' way.

corinne - you need to suggest that policy change to the News-Miner staff. I think seeing a large number of removed comments would let people know there was a lot of ugliness associated with the topic. It would also serve to tell the authors of removed comments that what they said was unreasonable and/or in bad taste.

honeyhi - presumably the girl was over the age of 18, which brings a new dynamic to a parent-child relationship. Also, there are cases where retired or disabled parents have no choice but to depend on their children for shelter.

I think the opportunity to "comment" at all, as regards, police reports will sonn be elimiated from use on this site. If it isn't removed, it should be.

In fact, I see a law suit in the works. Some of these reports of crimes go to court. The comments made here could influense a jury or judge.

SO FDM,...I suggest you remove "comments" from Public safety report.

Some people don't have the intelligence to make a descent comment.
