The Legislature comes to Fairbanks
Published Monday, June 9, 2008
Hearing schedules have been somewhat flexible so far, but here's the plan for the Fairbanks component of the road-show.
Hearings are all open to the public and will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at the Carlson Center.
Thursday is scheduled to focus on in-state gas, with presentations from the Alaska Gasline Port Authority, the Alaska Natural Gas Development Authority, and Enstar.
Friday will include testimony from TransCanada and Gov. Sarah Palin’s gas line team, which will present on jobs, job training, and infrastructure needs associated with pipeline construction.
Saturday will include any remaining testimony from the administration and TransCanada, followed by a public comment period. (All the hearings are open to the public, but this is your one shot to speak up.)
There's also the We Need Energy Now rally, which is scheduled to take place right after Thursday's hearings at 5 p.m., also in the Carlson Center.

CLARIFICATION: Actually, the hearings on Friday and Saturday are scheduled to start at 9 a.m. rather than 10 a.m. That's what the new official schedule says, although BASIS still says 10. It's also unclear whether Saturday morning will start with TC and the administration or go right into public testimony. I would go with the latter.
