National Park Service Ranger Colette Daigle-Berg and her husband, Bill Berg, put a dropped dog in a bag to keep it safe during a plane ride Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, outside the historic Slaven's Roadhouse during the Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race. The couple were the first rangers in the Yukon Charley Rivers National Preserve. They spent the summers of 1982 and 1983 at Slaven's. They have returned for the first time since to be volunteers for the Quest.
