Our kids won’t let us take the ice bridge all season even though we live down the street. I think this is why. My husband Jon took this photo last Thursday. The quality is not so hot because it was on his cellphone. The car was right in middle of the river between the Chena Pump boat landing and the landing that goes up to the Princess Hotel. Instead of turning right while driving down onto the river on the Chena Pump side and following the river down to Pike's Landing as most people do, this unfortunate driver apparently attempted to go straight across the river and hit a soft spot in the ice.
