The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds performed their precision aerial maneuvers in F-16 Fighting Falcons on June 24, 2008, at Eielson Air Force Base. The previous day, Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reporter Christopher Eshleman went along as the Thunderbirds practiced their maneuvers.

Members of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds perform precision aerial maneuvers in F-16 Fighting Falcons during a practice demonstration Monday afternoon, June 23, 2008, at Eielson Air Force Base. On Tuesday, the Thunderbirds, along with other military aircraft such as the F-22 Raptor, will perform in the Air Force exhibition “Soaring into Solstice” at Eielson. The event is free to the public with gates opening at 10 a.m. and the headlining Thunderbirds performance at 2 p.m.
