BP Exploration - Alaska announced during a news conference in Anchorage on Monday, July 14, 2008, the oil company's plan to develop its Liberty oil field using an existing satellite pad that is part of the Endicott oil field. The company estimates field development will cost $1.5 billion and is expected to yield about 100 million barrels of oil. Work will start this summer with a seismic survey.
