Mailed in May 1951, this aerial view postcard of Fairbanks shows most of the major buildings downtown for that time, but was probably an earlier view. The message on the back says, "Well here I am, had a nice trip -- have been to a wedding & mass. The town is dusty and its light all night. Will have to get that rest at home." This view goes from the area developed as Island Homes all the way west to Cowles Street between First Avenue and Second Avenue. -- Candy Waugaman
