Two wounded warriors hold the 9/11 flag at the close of the Fairbanks welcome home parade on May 12. This is the flag that was found and erected by a group of fire fighters in the rubble of the World Trade Towers. The flag was escorted to Fairbanks from San Diego, Calif., by another wounded hero. Unfortunately, he was unable to attend the parade. This flag has been to the majority of states in our country and has also been displayed in several other countries. As a veteran, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our men and women who put themselves in harms way every day. Scott Thompson, Fairbanks
