ANCHORAGE, Alaska - A search is under way in northwest Alaska for a 26-year-old Kotzebue man accused of sexually assaulting a young woman in Selawik.

Alaska State Troopers say Jason Douglas Black has evaded them at every turn for the past four days. They are sending up reinforcements to help with his capture.

Troopers say Black is armed and has threatened at least one officer with a rifle.

Trooper spokeswoman Beth Ipsen told the Anchorage Daily News that Black has been snowmobiling between villages and may be staying in cabins between Kiana, Noorvik and Selawik.

Two warrants have been issued for Black's arrest. One charges him with first-degree sexual assault and the other with third-degree assault for allegedly pointing the rifle at an officer in Noorvik.
