FAIRBANKS — A small cabin was destroyed by fire Monday morning off Chena Pump Road.
The fire was reported to Alaska State Troopers at 1:31 a.m., and the cabin was beyond salvageable when firefighters arrived at 1:50 a.m.
“There was fire coming out of the windows and every possible opening,” said Capt. Doug Loshbaugh of Chena Goldstream Fire and Rescue.
The cabin was unoccupied. Its only resident was Walter Lincoln, 40.
The University and Ester fire departments aided in putting out the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and foul play is not suspected, a report from the troopers stated.
