FAIRBANKS - Fairbanks police are searching for a man accused of threatening to kill his estranged wife.
A $1 million warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jammar Brown, 27. He is wanted on charges of attempted murder and kidnapping. Police warn that he is considered armed and dangerous and he is not to be directly approached.
Armed with a knife, Brown forced his way into the woman’s Fort Wainwright residence Thursday, tied her up with duct tape and assaulted her, according to police.
Police say he then drove her to another location where she managed to yell for help and escape. The woman was treated at Bassett Army Hospital Thursday night.
Brown is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 200 pounds. He has short black hair.
He was last seen driving a black 2003 Chevrolet Impala with Virginia license plate 2788VS.
Anyone with information about Brown’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or local law enforcement.
Brown has no prior criminal history in Alaska.

And Rockee, you are taking everything as fact, is that because it was printed in a newspaper? People lie to get what they want....they lie often, and some people lie very well.
Comment sections need a 'suggest removal' option.
May God Have mercy on you Mr. Brown.
The guy kidnapped her, tied her up, assaulted her; she screamed and people heard her. She was treated at the hospital--she must have had injuries. What part of that is sensationalized?
Don't care if the guy was a Stryker or not...you can't simply kidnap and assault your estranged spouse!
And, why "assume" there was an affair? Are you trying to justify this man's behavior? Would that be the "line" for you--where you would give yourself permission to act like an animal?
No one has the right to batter. NO ONE.
If the DNM drops the story . . .
either your theory, or . . . MPs, PD, or Troopers dropped the ball in an embarrassing manner. DNM often won't print that either.
A clearer photo would be nice and a description of eye color and any arm tatoos or other helpful identification markings.
Really interesting would be poetic justice of finding the car next spring after breakup with Mr. Brown cooling off inside, it would give him time to consider his actions before turning himself in.
If this happened yesterday, he's had considerable time to either get some distance, or dig in somewhere, unfortunately. Hope they can catch him soon, and that he doesn't make it past the areas where the public warnings reach.
