Cell phone service comes to Port Lions

PORT LIONS, Alaska - Cellular telephone service is coming to Port Lions.

TelAlaska Cellular is launching the service during community events Monday at the Port Lions Community Hall.

TelAlaska spokeswoman Celine Kaplan says the company launched its cellular service last summer.

Port Lions is the eighth community served by TelAlaska. The others are Cold Bay, Fort Yukon, Galena, Iliamna, King Cove, Sand Point and Teller.
