JUNEAU, Alaska - The Anchorage Daily News reports that a fishing boat which capsized near Unalaska Island, prompting a rescue of four fisherman, is owned by a company registered to an aide of Gov. Sean Parnell.

Public records show the Carley Renee to be owned by Carley Renee LLC, a company registered to 48-year-old John Moller. Moller, a rural affairs adviser to Parnell, could not immediately be reached for comment.

The Coast Guard rescued four fishermen from a life raft after the 59-foot vessel capsized Friday. The vessel carried an estimated 2,000 gallons of diesel fuel and 20 gallons of lube oil, and the Coast Guard says it will need to be salvaged.

What "slimes the boat owners" about this article?

The DNM is a noticably pro-Chamber-of-Commerce paper, Parnell is a noted to be favored by the Chamber of Commerce.

The DNM regularly prints notices concerning fishing/shipping accidents and Coast Guard rescues. I wish they would as routinely publish follow-ups, in many cases.

They should not mention such incidents [censor content] if the vessel concerned is owned by someone associated with the current administration?

Absurd.

A waste of good space....there should have been a real story here but the reporter choose to not to write the news hoping only to slime the boat owners, who were not there...

Hmm, sounds like a straight forward story but could be interpreted as the first published attempt to sling slime at Gov. Parnell's administration.

Let's face it, this would barely be news worthy otherwise. We would hear about the capsizing, the safety of the crew and maybe later a follow-up story about the salvage or lack thereof.
