GRAND ISLAND, Neb. - Two people from Alaska have died in a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 80 in central Nebraska.

The Nebraska State Patrol said 63-year-old Jane Mattson and 66-year-old William Mattson, both of Kenai, Alaska, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The patrol said a westbound Honda driven by a Grand Island man struck a deer crossing the road shortly after midnight Sunday about six miles east of Grand Island.

Jane Mattson, who was driving a Volvo, hit the Accord from behind. A semi driven by a South Dakota woman then struck the Volvo.
