Angelwatch a website I looked at is http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse.html it shows the path the eclipse will take. Looks like AK will see a partial. Parts of CA, NV, UT, AZ, NM & TX will see the total eclipse. The site has been pretty busy, Eclipse has started in the western Pacific.

Will Alaska get to see the total eclipse or just a partial? Im in the north central part of Tx and will only get to see the partial. Most likely I will stay in and just watch it on Tv. It:is not suppose to happen till about 7:23 I think is what the news said. Oh well all have a good day.

Hi TL551 & rhcsfo! Nice to see you guys on again! TL, so what's your new job? Are you still out & about in the native villages & in the medical field? Cloudy & only 60 here today; maybe rain later. Feels good especially since I'm cleaning house. Blinds are a pita but I'm using patio furniture cleaner & a soft brush then wipe them off a side at a time. Seems to work pretty well. Don't want to take them down & clean them on the driveway. Good day to all, Jon

I haven't noticed anything in the news about the connection between the unusually large full moon half a month ago and the fact that the moon will not cover the sun entirely in today's solar eclipse. The full moon was large because the moon in its elliptical orbit was at the closest point to the earth. Half a month later, it is therefore at its farthest from us, and looking unusually small compared to the disk of the sun, so small that it cannot completely cover the sun.

the fish. ity depends on what fish you catch as to how they react on the line. Sunnies & crappies give a tussle bass some times fight other times they just lay still while you retreave them. we don`t keep the fish .we unhook them then put them back in the lake. as they call it catch and release.I get more fun out of fly fishin that bottom fish for cat fish.but this year it is hard to get fish bitin .my belief is we had a warm winter no ice on the lakes and I feel the fish are feedin the algie on

BF I use artificial flies. I use the kind that sink. First I get my hip waders on then go in the lake and stasrt to throw the line out as possible then with my rt. hand I start to pull the line in with slight jerks of the line .it gives the fish a desire to go after the fly cause they think it is a minnow. You do aloit of castin and retreving of the line. To me it is fun especially when the fish hit the fly . it depends on what kind of fish that yo catch to give you the pleasure of retrivin the

FreeLady, it arrived here Yesterday however we have not gotten it hooked up as yet. But we really thank you for the idea of it as we're pretty sure that it's going to keep the free range cats out of our garden. And maybe it will keep some of the birds out of the Strawberries too. But sometimes it's Bob that eats them plus he grazes through the Raspberries a lot when they become ripe as well. With the Strawberries he roots out a lot of the wild ones before I can get to them as well.

Theo, how do you fish for flies? What kind of bait do you use trying to catch them? I used to do some ice fishing but they always melted before I got them home. Actually after not doing any fishing for a number of years I've been thinking of taking it up again. BTW, the best way to find the best fishin' holes is to drive around during the middle of the week. That's when the retired guys go fishin' and they know the best places to go. So if you only have weekends off then you know where to go.

BlackSpruce, it used to drive me nuts before we changed it where we're only on two time zones now. It was trying to call Juneau while doing business it always seemed as if it was at the wrong time. The one thing that they didn't want to do in Juneau was to change and join the rest of us. And they were exceptionally vocal about it as well. And when it did finally change state workers were the worst ones of all to deal with as they'd basically had all kinds of free time before the change.

Tried complaining to legislators about being two hours too fast. Response was commerce rules the day. Pushing us closer to the lower states means more overlapping work hours; EST 4 hrs now, old was just 2. Juneau used to run on PST (120 WMT), so 2 hours ahead of old AST (150 WMT). That gave 8-12_1-5 office workers just 5 hours to phone the main population areas. Forcing us into the same clock setting has most state workers available to each other all workday long.
