GCI builds health care network for Alaska

Published Sunday, September 28, 2008

The Alaska Primary Care Association selected GCI’s ConnectMD to manage new infrastructure supporting the Alaska Community Health Integrated Network, an association project.

The nonprofit primary care association will use GCI’s service to expand patient outreach and care quality in six of the state’s most remote regions: Bethel, Homer, Wrangell, Skagway, Unalaska and Cordova.

Two IT improvements through the network are expected to increase efficiency and quality of care. The improvements required a sophisticated technological network that is globally manageable and expandable.
