Matanuska Creamery expands into ice cream

Published Sunday, September 21, 2008

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- The new dairy in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough is expanding its product line.

Matanuska Creamery in Wasilla began by making cheese, then bottled milk and now plans to produce ice cream.

Co-owner and manager Kyle Beus says Matanuska Creamery is only selling its ice cream now to shops and restaurants in 3-gallon containers but will eventually make pint sizes for store sales.

Beus says he plans to have at least 12 different varieties of premium ice cream on store shelves within a year.
